Flash on the Beach Miami!

I've just been confirmed as a speaker at Flash on the Beach Miami!

This is a great honour and I look forward to hitting South Beach in April! I can't wait for this one.

Flash on the Beach - over

I had a great time in Brighton & Hove during Flash on the Beach. John Davey and his crew did a terrific job of making everyone feel welcome and personally, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Although I missed a couple of the talks I'd intended to see (my apologies, Mario, Marcos, Craig, Andre, Rich, et. al) due to scheduling conflicts or sleeping in or lunches going long, the talks I did see were truly inspiring.

It was so great to see everyone again after so long an absence and it reminded of what great people it's been my privilege to know. Any pictures I have that are worth seeing aren't really of the conference, so I'll just leave them offline. Let me just say, when a person drops his camera in a pint glass, keep your wits about you and take a picture! Don't laugh until you realize your camera's on and all you had to do was snap it. All I got a was a lousy pic of the camera being shook out.

Lastly, there's nothing more rewarding than meeting new people and seeing that they are of a like mind. You know you who are. I'm happy to have met you guys. But Chris, Underberg is gross. No two ways about it.

Kudos once again, to you, John. I cannot wait for '08.

Much love to my employers, Organic, for footing the bill for me to go. Now if you'll just let me expense what amounts to $400.00 CAD in alcohol expenses over the week, I'll be good.

Flash on the Beach '07 Sold Out!

Very nice. I am getting really excited about this. I know it's not a vacation, per se, but I love festivals and conferences.

Looking forward to seeing some old friends.

Yeeha!

Flash on the Beach - the Countdown Continues

Man, I am getting both excited and nervous about Flash on the Beach on the 4th! Excited, I'm going to see some people I haven't seen in a long time. Nervous, I'm dreading the ridiculous exchange rate. Everything I buy, I'll look at and think "This 10 GBP chachki just cost me $20 CAD." It'll make me second guess everything.

I better hope people are feeling generous and want to buy me pints. Or I might need to learn a convincing soft-shoe.

"Dance, rummy!"
"Cha cha chi cha cha!"
"That was pathetic, but funny. Here's yer beer."

Flash on the Beach 2007

I'm scheduled to go to Flash on the Beach 2007 in Brighton in early November. I'm extremely excited. There's a number of people speaking that I haven't seen in a few years.

Hopefully I'll manage to see some sessions, have some great conversations and play some poker. Mario has been playing poker online recently and I feel he needs to re-acquaint himself with playing person to person. And Josh is always good for a game. If I recall correctly, even Bradley likes a game of cards.

There's a great line-up of speakers and I have a few weeks before I need to solidify my decisions on who to attend and who to, unfortunately, pass on.
