Happy Easter, People!

Libs took Declan to her folks for his second Easter ever. I stayed behind in Toronto because I had/have work to do. I've spent the weekend watching comic book inspired movies and sitting on my couch with my laptop. Occasionally glancing at the dog thinking, "Hm, I should take you out."

So Happy Easter to all of you that celebrate Easter. To all of you that don't celebrate Easter that live in Canada, you're welcome for the day off on Friday.

Oh, and Toronto beat Ottawa yesterday in hockey. Happy birthday to me.

Speaking of birthdays, is anyone else sick of knowing a person's birthday? Thanks to friggin' Facebook, I can't just be ignorant of a birthday.

You know you're old when...

You wake up after a night of drinking and spend the next 8 hours devising more and more elaborate ways of not working. While simultaneously looking like you're working. (this, by the way, is not as easy as it looks when you're blogging)

That whole hangover thing you used to laugh at others for getting is debilitating now.

If you could, you would pull out your eyes and scrub them clean since everything is slightly out of focus.

You danced. 'Nuff said.

Your plans for lunch include; ducking out, going to a mall and meandering

You turned 35 on the weekend.

'Tis the Season

Gift-giving is coming up more and more, once again, in conversation. My typical response, when someone asks me what I want for Christmas, is "money". My mother agrees and we had a good chat about it the other day;

- Money is something everyone wants or needs.
- You will never return it because it doesn't fit, isn't your 'style', not the right colour or because you wanted something different.
- You don't need a gift receipt to give money.

If you're like me, you need to drive "all over God's half-acre" to fit in all the visiting you'll do over the Christmas term. That takes gas. Gas costs money. Man, what I wouldn't give to not have to think about how much it's going to cost me to fill up while I bring my toddler to Aunt so and so or Cousin what's his name.

My mom told me that when she says, "Money would be good." The typical response is, "But money is so impersonal." I disagree. Money is something you'd never ask for. But you can always use it. Whether it's to pay off a bill, fill up your vehicle, buy something nice for yourself on a whim or save and put towards a trip.

Tell the truth, when someone asks, "What do you want for Christmas?"isn't there some small part of you that feels like saying, "A hundred bucks."?

I think the other side of this is my birthday is on Saturday. The more I get asked what I want for my birthday, the more I either say "Nothing" or "Pass the hat, Reverend."

Man Alive, I'll be 35!!!

Declan Turns One!

If you're new to my blog, you wouldn't know that I have a son named Declan. Otherwise, you already know I think he's the best. Well, August 19th is his birthday. Happy Birthday, Declan!!

We had a nice little party and tuckered the little guy out. Thank you, everyone, that came to celebrate this special day.

Ha cha cha, Mommy.

Once everyone was gone, Mommy let little D roam free

Not everyone liked the hats.

I love cleaning up with balloons. Pop. Pop. Pop.
