Sugary Sweet

Ok...now I warn you, this is like eating spoonful after spoonful of sugar.

OMG. How cute is that?

Goodbye, World of Warcraft.

As I've posted in the past, I've been playing this game called World of Warcraft. Over a week ago, I read a blog post by a former WoW head and so many comments struck a chord with me that I realized that I needed to quit.

And much like the comment by this poster I made my post in the guild forums saying I was leaving (half of it RPing - something that doesn't happen after you start raiding) and that it was time for me to move on. Three days later I didn't exist any more. The machine kept on moving without this gear. I've had much the same experience.

I actually joined first the server, then the guild my older brother was/is on. Once I decided to quit, I just handed my account info to him and walked away. A day later he'd changed the credit card info so I wouldn't be charged again. He's also started proceedings on getting the account out of my name entirely. Which I fully endorse. I won't be back to WoW.

So goodbye to my little 'toon Hughbone and his horse Clip Clop.

Safari Yumminess

Are you a Mac guy? Are you using Safari? Well, I have news for you! Thanks to my friend, Alex, I've found a cool little tool that's inherent to Safari, but needs to be installed.

Step 1: Google "Safari Enhancer"

Step 2: Use one of Google's many provided links. I used VersionTracker

Step 3: DOWNLOAD THAT BISH!!!

Step 4:

Make sure Activate Debugging Menu is checked. Click Apply User Settings and Safari will quit.

Step 5: Reopen Safari. You will now have a Debug option in the top menu. Woohoo!

FiTC

I meant to post about FiTC Hollywood since I got back and just never took advantage of my time beyond recuperating my voice and getting some rest. And playing with my babies (both Libs AND Declan)

So here're some highlights;

Hanging out playing poker til 1 am with Chris Allen, Tom from AOL, Beau Ambur, Danny from Metaliq (which I pronounce "maytaleek", to make it sound a little french) Shawn and gMunk.

Trading witticisms with Eric Miranda from Ming Dynasty. I swear that guy channels Henny Youngman, but he has a guitar instead of a fiddle.

Sitting and chatting with Josh and Shawn til 7:30 am. Good times.

Hanging out with Jason from MediaTemple on a visiting run to one of his buddy's apartments for a beer or three. Then playing a horrific prank on Pucknell involving drinking and driving, an accident, Jason's death, a dead hooker and a bag of coke. God that was funny. Then trying the same prank on Josh not realizing he was sitting next to Puck.

Seeing John Grden rock out the Rush using his digital drumpads, a midi connection, Red5 Flash Server and Flash.

Losing my voice one day at a time.

Mario Klingemann and his wife are lovely people.

Ron Gervais celebrated his 30th in LA.

Grant and Bobi are still my vote for nicest Edmontonians I know.

Not having the voice to speak to Jennifer Shiman from 30 second Bunnies although I had lots to say and ask.

Having a nice, quiet drink with Robert Reinhardt my first night there.

Good Times

I spoke to my old class at Sheridan College yesterday morning. I said a few times, "you know, 8 or 9 years ago when I graduated" and it bothered me that I couldn't put a number to it with any confidence. So I went a'lookin' and this is what I found.

My old student card! WTF!?!?

And hell, check me out with long hair!

Been shaving my head since I realize all that was going away, but man, look at that mane. HAHAHAHAHA, awesome.

So mystery solved. That last sticker is 97/98 meaning I graduated in 1998. Basic math tells me that was... *carry the 1...divide by the square root of pi...* 8 years! Holy shit!

Oh, and DON'T do what I just did and post a picture of when you were in shape and about 60 pounds lighter and tanned from a summer of rollerblading. Especially when that picture and a picture of you in the present with that extra 60 pounds, no hair, not shaven and looking haggard is close by. That is not the comparison you need at 7:35 am on a Saturday morning when all you want to do is lie around and play Fable. I need to go jogging. Or stop eating cheese. Or something.

FiTC Hollywood

Well, I fly out to LA at six or so (can't remember exactly). My car will get here around 3 to take me to the airport. I'm not really looking forward to this trip, to be honest. Declan will be celebrating his first thanksgiving at Libs' parents. Ah well.

Hopefully I'll post while I'm there. We'll see.
