New HOUSE!

Finally after three months, Libs and I have our house and have moved in!

We took possession two weeks ago with a plan to move in July 22nd. The day we took possession, we discovered mould. Mould in the room that is to be the nursery. Mould the previous owners deny ever seeing, our home inspector denies ever seeing and our lawyers claims is a matter of "Caveat Emptor" (Buyer Beware).

So the last two weeks has been;
find a mould specialist to assess the mould and locate the source
hire the specialist(s) to remove the mould
upon discovering it's hole(s) in the roof, find a roofer
hire the roofer to replace our 25 year old roof before the next rain so removing the mould isn't in vain.

We did all that.

We still moved. We're in our new house.

I have a weird cable and internet problem and our home phone isn't functioning, but we have a lot of space. And the dude is loving it.

I have lots of video, hopefully I'll have time to put some up.

That's My Boy!

Man, I look at my dog every day and he doesn't seem that big. Of course, I guess that's til I pick the little fella up.

Jeepers... bulldogs can be big...

Life's Hold Music

When you're waiting to get something incredibly life-changing done, everything else feels like hold music or waiting to get off an escalator. You know it's coming, but you MUST do _____ first.

That's what this week has been like for Libs and I. Tuesday we secured our insurance policy for our new house. Wednesday morning we went to the lawyer's office to sign every form they had in their cabinets, apparently. Tonight we take a final look at the house before accepting the keys...on Friday....sometime around 3 pm...

This whole week has been some kind of bizarre torture. Well, the last three months has been torture. It's been three months since we handed over our down payment for this house. We haven't seen the inside since and now all we want to do is get in there and paint (cleaning first, if the original owners were jerks and decided to leave us with a mess)

Plus, we don't officially move until July 21st. We'd been under the assumption our closing date was July 14th so a week from closing gave us time to paint etc. I'll bet a dozen beers we go there nearly every night after work for the next two weeks, moving little odds and ends and planning our new life.

All that being said, I gotta apologize to my coworkers for my lack of focus and complete disinterest in what are likely important projects.
