Lack of Posts

I know I've been reticent in posting to the blog recently. For the first half of this year really. I do have what I think are good explanations for why, but they never sound quite right when I say them out loud.

I've had a nasty bout of creative block (every aspect of creativity, actually) and have had a hard time busting out of it. I feel as though it's about to crest and I'm looking forward to being excited about something that doesn't involve the baby in my girlfriend's belly. Not to say that it's wrong to be excited about it, but my contribution is done in that regard.

So here are some things I'm checking out recently;

T-shirts are really starting to draw me in. A good print on a shirt can give me just about as much inspiration as a good book or movie. Now I just need to talk someone into letting do print tests for free (or at least free table time somewhere)

I have a really shitty digital video camera which I haven't used in a really long time. My friend (more acquaintance but whatev) Brendan Dawes has started a site called Inspireme.tv. Now I want to dig out my camera and do something, so that's good.

While at FiTC my buddy, Geoff Lillemon gave me a limited edition print he'd done. I was really appreciative and Geoff is one of those rare talents that thankfully hasn't gone unnoticed. Makes me want to explore screen-printing. Something I never did in school. Of course, that's nearly a decade ago, so I don't have an excuse anymore.

My friend, U.N.I.D is helping me with an idea I had earlier in the spring. Well, to be honest, he's executing the idea for me. I'm still in a creative funk so I'm not helping him too much. Ah well.

This is about all I can manage right now since I really need to get back to work.
